Keep your bedding dry – amongst other things.

Here’s a quick tip for you while I wait for the BBQ to heat up. If you have a pop top camper or caravan where the beds pull out of the main body and are enclosed in canvas, the canvas can often become damp when you experience heavy rain or even a heavy dew. The problem facing you then when you pack up is how to fold the canvas so that your bedding remains dry. We all know that there is nothing worse than sliding into damp bedding! Well, pop down to the local discount store and buy a couple of large plastic picnic table cloths. These are really light and thin and cost only a couple of dollars.

Then the next time you pack up and the canvas is damp, open out the table cloth and spread it over your bedding making sure you tuck it in around the edges; then fold down your canvas. We tried this the last time we were out camping and it worked a treat – kept the bedding perfectly dry. They fold up and store well too, taking up no space at all really.

Of course, you can use them for just about anything where you need to keep essentials dry – just wrap one around whatever, including wet towels, clothes, etc. I’ve even thought of cutting a hole in the middle of one and using it as a poncho to wear when packing up in the rain! Then again, you can always use them as a picnic table cover ….

Really good tip. When I stop and think about it a cheap small tarp would do the same job or even a large garbage bag cut flat. Keep the great info coming :)
